The 20CaO-(80-x)B2O3-xZnO glasses were prepared by melt quenching technique (where x=0, 5, 15 and 20 mol%) in order to study in the physical and optical properties. These glass compositions were heated to 1200 ºC for 3 hours and annealed at 500ºC for 3 hours. Clear glass samples were obtained from these compositions. The density, molar volume, refractive index, optical spectra (in the wavelength of 190-1100 nm), optical band gap, optical basicity and polarizability of glass samples have been investigated in this work.
